Due to the problem reported in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73777 sys-fs/mdadm-1.8.1 should be marked -x86. I think it also segfaults on amd64 so maybe it also should be marked -adm64 or at least ~amd64. Please verify with someone running mdadm on an amd64 platform. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. mdadm --assemble /dev/md0 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 /dev/hdg1 /dev/hda4 2. Segmentation fault (core dumped) 3. Actual Results: mdadm crashed. Expected Results: An assembled /dev/md0 device. Peter, first I intended to reopen the other bug. Since 1.9.0-r1 is marked stable is see no reason for it.
I understand. But if someone installs mdadm, and by some reason selects version 1.8.1 they will be surprised! I still think it should be marked unusable.
