New version fails to start with: Mar 22 21:09:08 mih crond[23292]: (CRON) DEATH (can't open or create /var/lib/run/crond.pid): No such file or directory obviously /var/lib/run path doesnt exist... not sure where it takes it, init file and conf seems to be correct. Reverting back to 1.5.7 fixes issue... @polynomial-c be nice if this was fixed soon, thanks. While it exists for some, none of my systems have /var/lib/run here and I think this affects quite a few users finding themselves without a running cron (seen more reports on #gentoo as well).
