Here is an example from building bzip2:

i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -O3 -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -fexpensive-optimizations -fpic -fPIC -Wall -Winline -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strength-reduce -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -c blocksort.c
