I'm using Mozc with ibus. The previous version, 2.23.2815.102-r1, works fine. When I upgrade to mozc-2.26.4220_p20201212102434_p20201219202429-r1, it's just completely broken. Choosing Mozc through either hotkey or tray icon apparently does nothing. The icon does get changed from "EN" to "A", but there's no effect otherwise. IME is never activated. I checked Alacritty, Firefox (GTK), KeePassXC (Qt), where the previous version did work. Left click menu in the tray does not give the usual entries that switch hiragana/direct/etc mode, open settings, etc. In the Input Method tab of ibus-setup, clicking "Preferences" for Mozc does nothing. (At some point, I wanted to bisect the upstream repo, but the build system frustrated me immensely and I gave up. I have huge respect for the one who managed to package mozc as a ebuild.) I don't know what changed, but it now works even accross ibus restarts. I still can't open the settings from ibus-setup, but I can do it from the tray menu.
