the config.log

Was building lxde-base/lxmenu-data-0.1.5 and when it was going through its checks, this line came up

checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool

It depends on intltool but intltool is broken for you at the moment, it seems.

This is probably yet-another-duplicate of 596664. Try perl-cleaner --all?

... or maybe bug 827966?

Just ran

 perl-cleaner --all

and it says no packages need to be reinstalled. Tried re-emerging lxmenu-data and still throws same error. 

You're right, problem isn't with the ebuild. Trying to re-emerge xml-parser now, hoping it'll solve the problem

re-emerging XML-Parser and intltool seemed to do the trick, thank you very much for your time and help!
