Turck MMCache is unmaintained and does not work with PHP 5. eAccelerator is a fork of Turck MMCache and its official successor. It works with both PHP 4 and PHP 5. The latest version of Turck MMCache in portage (dev-php/turck-mmcache-2.4.6) is currently masked x86 ~amd64 ppc ~sparc. This is a request to the ppc and sparc ARCH teams to stabilize dev-php/eaccelerator-0.9.2a for their respective architectures. After more testing I will stabilize dev-php/eaccelerator-0.9.2a on x86 and amd64 myself. Once dev-php/eaccelerator-0.9.2a is masked the same (or better) than dev-php/turck-mmcache-2.4.6 I will package.mask dev-php/turck-mmcache-2.4.6 and remove it from the tree shortly after that. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Added ~sparc keyword.
Stable on SPARC
Created attachment 53928 [details, diff] proposed patch ebuild should handle situation, when both apache-1 and apache-2 installed or when apache-2 used only for subversion needs and php running as cgi only. via apache2 use flag, for example.
Just a vote for unmasking x86: I've been running =dev-php/eaccelerator-0.9.2a for two weeks now without problems on an apache2+PHP5 farm (4 servers) on x86.
dev-php/eaccelerator-0.9.2a is stable on x86 and amd64 now. dev-php/eaccelerator-0.9.3, which includes a couple of bugfixes, is in the tree and marked ~x86 ~amd64 ~sparc.
dev-php/turck-mmcache is in package.mask now, pending removal.
Nice work on this one Sebastian.
