configure.ac in actual version just looks for a guile-2 installation. Last activity on the sourceforge code base was back in 2019. I just sent a mail to the developer to ask about the actual state.
(In reply to Thomas Beierlein from comment #8) > configure.ac in actual version just looks for a guile-2 installation. > > Last activity on the sourceforge code base was back in 2019. > > I just sent a mail to the developer to ask about the actual state. Mail came back as undeliverable. Will do a second try.
Just to update this - I have also tried to contact the author via sourceforge (bounced - no account any more), and the personal email (no reply). I guess this will not be resolved unless: - we locally patch it - it is forked and updated outside Gentoo - we remove it from portage as obsolete. What do you think?
gwave also depends on GTK:2

This reverts commit dc105a6efbb47cb7347cc6d00c83d32a570c9a7c. This breaks sci-electronics/geda-suite and sci-electronics/gspiceui - those need checking and somehow adapting if last-rites are to be continued.
