Hi, what about adding BASE (Basic Analysis and Security Engine) to the portage tree? Anyone? Take a look at http://secureideas.sourceforge.net/index.php it is basically based on the code from the Analysis Console for Intrusion Databases (ACID) and provides a web front-end to query and analyze the alerts coming from a SNORT IDS system. And finally it would be very handy to have the chance to configure it with webapp-conf?! Thanks a lot. Bye, Werner. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

I just checked out your ebuild and it seems to work great. Only thing left is that the setup isn't loading the entire mysql database thus resulting in errors in base. I basically linked BASE to an old ACID database which worked pretty well except for two (i believe roles and users). This is really good replacement since ACID hasn't been worked on in over two years. But this ebuild doesn't work very well for NEW installs since it doesn't cover installing an entire DB database sufficient enough for BASE to run properly. The installer page that you have linked to in the ebuild unfortantely doesnt do justice. Anyway great job and I hope the devs add this to portage.
