Given that upstream broke their ABI without SONAME bump, I dare say this should have been tested first, or p.masked for testing.

on my system, qtwebengine, chromium, and Scribus failed to rebuild with harbuzz-3.0.0-r1

This isn't sufficient.. please file a new bug for each, but I'd emerge --sync first. All of those should be fixed already.

(FWIW, it was indeed masked for almost a month, and we coordinated unmasking it for Chromium, we just didn't seemingly end up testing all of the versions.)
