Thoggen is an upcomming dvd-theora backup util that is based on gtk+ and gstreamer which was recently released this year. I think this fine app should grace the portage. http://thoggen.net/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Second that
Created attachment 52988 [details] the ebuild The ebuild should work but the program (for me) did not work well, had some gstreamer problems (dvd was detected but did not start ripping because of an error: "factory for a52dec has no type")
I got my gstreamer problem fixed (re-emerging gstreamer packages with normal CFLAGS, instead of "-O3 -march=i686 -pipe" seemed to fix it). Now thoggen works, but as they say on their web page, it is very slow, I got 3.9fps with default settings on pentium-m 1.5.
built fine on amd64 for me using the previously attached ebuild. this should definitely be in portage.
I think this should maybe be in the gstreamer-herd rather than media-video herd
why the src_compile()? it builds fine without that. the dpes should be gstreamer 0.8.9 and gst-plugins-0.8.8 hal also should be >= 0.4.0 and dbus >= 0.22 You missed the libglade dep and thoggen needs gtk+ 2.6 Maybe this ebuild is for an older version of thoggen, please update the ebuild for 0.3 of thoggen.
I agree with Gad, this belongs to gstreamer.
Created attachment 59077 [details] thoggen-0.3.ebuild Various fixes. dts? requires gst-plugins-dts, easy gst-plugins ebuild (DEPEND=">=media-libs/libdts-0.0.2") Patch (from thoggen CVS) to be attached to allow compile against recent hal/dbus (gentopia).
Created attachment 59078 [details, diff] thoggen-0.3-new-dbus-hal.patch As above.
Created attachment 59079 [details] thoggen-0.3.ebuild Oops: dbus USE dep is +gtk, not +mono.
I get access violations when using this ebuild. I'd like to add it to the tree, as soon as I get a working one.
Created attachment 62174 [details] thoggen-0.3.ebuild Oh, yeah. This should work; I'm using the same hack (setting GST_INSPECT=/bin/true) as used in rhythmbox and sound-juicer ebuilds.
