While tracking down a problem with my GENTOO_MIRRORS setting I discovered that the j2sdk-1_4_2-doc.zip file actually has at least two incarnations.  

The first time I hand downloaded a version it was about 2MB to large.  Searching for the file on Google, I found that there are apparently a 1.4.2_01 and 1.4.2_02 version floating around.  Apparently they both were saved to 1_4_2-doc.zip

Sun has a long history of not being able to name files properly. 
It is out of our hands, I'm afraid. It's going to bite you whenever
you use a Sun product which prohibits mirroring. Nothing we can
do except play catch-up.
