i've installed a couple of applications (namely doom3 and azureus, neither through portage), and when i try to add them to the gnome menu, it comes up with the form and the details, but when i click "ok" the icons don't appear, nor do they appear next boot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try to create menu icon 2. it wont appear. 3. restart x/computer 4. still not there :) Actual Results: nothing :P Expected Results: a menu icon with a shiny azureus icon/doom3 icon uhh... thats about it! thanks guys!
This is a dupe of Bug 78661, and will unfortunately remain broken until March or something (GNOME 2.10 release). You can refer to the bug report for temporary workarounds.
