Looks like this is the same bug as

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77784

Until I'm sure (or we solve) keeping this open anyway

I'm having the exact same problem as well, a bunch of undefined references when building libpyuno.so

I emerged it with only "-march=athlon-xp -pipe" as the CFLAGS

Comment 7 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-18 10:21:24 UTC
I've just commited a fix to the ebuild which tries to resolve this problem, please re-sync (after the mirrors have catched up) and try again. If you don't want to wait you could also remove the pthreadlink-fix.patch from the ebuild.

Basically this seems to be caused by a patched which was recently introduced while trying to get hardened gccs to work.

Hope this helps
Comment 8 Bernd Westermann 2005-01-18 10:30:00 UTC
I have the same error. But some info:
- So. 2005-01-16 I had compile openoffice-1.1.4 successfully on my notebook.
- 2005-01-17 I want to compile it on my desktop PC with this error
- Today (2005-01-18) I do an additiona emerge of openoffice-1.1.4 on my notebook and it fails too.
The only program changed in this 2 days was bin86 from 0.16.13 to 0.16.16, a new compiled kernel (same but now compiled with gc-3.3.5) and I had reboot my notebook. I downgrade bin86 to 0.16.13 but openoffice did not compile.

INFO!!! I did not try your patch. Hope it helps.
Comment 9 Bernd Westermann 2005-01-19 05:33:01 UTC
The patch works fine for me. Thanks...

sorry, I still can't compile, I emerge sync'd, and then emerge openoffice-1.3.7, below is what I get, is there anything I can provide you with that would help you? make.conf etc?

Comment 13 Serhij S. Stasyuk 2005-01-20 12:45:27 UTC
As I see openoffice-1.1.4.ebuild is more then 2 days old, I synced later. It does not work for me (in bug 78766 comment 1). I see line
epatch ${FILESDIR}/${PV}/pyunolink-fix.patch
but it is only in hardened if-use and it does not exists in ${FILESDIR}/${PV}
Comment 14 Errikos Pitsos 2005-01-20 12:49:38 UTC
btw my original bug posting was wrt openoffice-ximian, could it be that this patch was not removed from these ebuilds?

the version I tried to build was openoffice-ximian-1.3.7.ebuild and it didn't work.

thanks!
Comment 15 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-20 14:59:22 UTC
@Sergey: It's correct that way, the patch actually broke the build. Also are you sure, that you get the EXACT same bug as the original report was, cause most likely if it still breaks for you you'll get:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77784

Which looks quite similar, but is another beast

@Errikos:

Your bug is not in any way related to the original report, so please open a seperate bug
Comment 16 Errikos Pitsos 2005-01-20 15:12:02 UTC
I had a seperate bug for this:)

@Errikos: The build failure you posted there is something totally different than you posted here now...
Comment 18 Serhij S. Stasyuk 2005-01-21 03:29:36 UTC
@Andreas: thanks, the better description of my problem is in bug #77784
