Recently added package depends on x11-libs/gtk+:2

gtk2 is EOL. We shouldn't be adding packages that block gtk2 removal. Please port to gtk3 or remove the package

Packages in overlays won't block GTK2 cleanup in gentoo.git anyway.

Please use [guru] tag for bugs concerning the overlay.

Upstream has partial gtk3 support, but its currently broken. Ill look into finishing the port and sending it to upstream.
Should I still remove it?

Nope, sounds good. Only if you can't get it working - but there's no timer so don't rush (you have until gtk2 removal, whenever that might be)
