please see the given URL for details on what i have already tried to solve the issue. In short: i cannot compile kdemultimedia and have searched bugzilla and gentoo forums for solutions, found some, tried them and still had no luck.

hm, i'm probably doing something stupid here, but, really, i tried fixing the problem by using the fix_libtool_files.sh script with argument 3.3.4 as i stated in my earlier comments, that did not help. is this script idempotent?
