Currently I just upgraded to xfce 4.2 rc3 and some of my system update included torsmo(Which i'm in love too). But now it seems to me that there is some problem: when I start torsmo it draws on the screen, but then disappears. After moving some window to (or over) that area of the desktop then move back torsmo reappears, then - as it updates - disappears again :-( Didn't know if it's a torsmo or xfdesktop problem, but the guys @ bugzilla.xfce told that it shoul be a torsmo problem. My things are: $ torsmo -V torsmo 0.18 compiled Jan 5 2005 $ xfdesktop -V This is xfdesktop version 4.1.99.3 for Xfce 4.1.99.2 built with GTK+-2.4.14, linked with GTK+-2.4.14. Just tried the solution suggested in this bug: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=610 But this: # torsmo -w `xprop -root XFCE_DESKTOP_WINDOW | sed 's/.*# \(.*\)/\1/g'` doesn't help, torsmo still flashes, and disappears as it updates. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. upgrade torsmo and xfce to it's very latest packages 2. run torsmo 3. $ sudo emerge info Portage 2.0.51-r10 (default-linux/x86/2004.0, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.4.20041102-r0, 2.6.10-gentoo-r4 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.10-gentoo-r4 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.8 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.4 [2.3.4 (#1, Dec 22 2004, 16:03:43)] ccache version 2.3 [enabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.4 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.9.4, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9, 1.4_p6, 1.8.5-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r2 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.10-r2 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.8.1-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium4 -funroll-loops -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O3 -march=pentium4 -funroll-loops -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://intranet.online.hu/ http://gentoo.inode.at/ http://gentoo.mirror.icd.hu/ http://gentoo.math.bme.hu/ http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2 -s" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X aalib alsa apm avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bonobo cdr crypt cups directfb encode esd f77 fam flac foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gphoto2 gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile hal imagemagick imlib ipv6 java jikes jpeg libg++ libwww mad maildir mbox mikmod motif mozilla mpeg ncurses nls nptl nptlonly oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png ppds python qt quicktime readline ruby samba sdl slang spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd tiff truetype unicode usb x86 xml xml2 xmms xv zlib linguas_en linguas_hu" Unset: LDFLAGS
xfce people - any idea?
It's not that bad for now as I updated to torsmo-0.18-r2. I mean it displays much better now, so it doesn't disappears as every reload. But if I move some window over it, the characters and even the information are broken until I cover that whole area with some window and quickly uncover. It never happened with xfce 4.06 and torsmo 0.17-*
don't know Can you report this upstream please. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=108594&atid=650929
