yes, sorry yes this might look like a pointless bug.
But it was a missing dep in the ebuild in a manner of speaking.

re-opening bug since required by gnumexp and for some reason this got closed and thus blocked that bugzilla ebuild (76672) ??

why was this bug closed?

it seemed to of been who closed it as RESOLVED INVALID? look at View Bug Acitivity.

anyway, i'm happy keeping it open.

ok thanks. It is just it is a key part of other ebuilds that I have submitted (gnumexp - very good program)

And if gnumexp stands a chance of getting into portage it will need this. Ebuilds work for me, but I might have missed some dependancies
