Currently, portage will install adwaita-icon-theme for some apps, even if the user uses kde-frameworks/breeze-icons, adding unnecessary icons, when breeze icons will be used anyway. Adding kde-frameworks/breeze-icons as a dependency of virtual/freedesktop-icon-theme solves this issue.
"Breeze-icons is a freedesktop.org compatible icon theme." Yes, definitely, esp. with oxygen-icons already being part of it.
