This breaks among other things dev-vcs/git-cola (exception on launch). Details at https://www.riverbankcomputing.com/pipermail/pyqt/2020-September/043160.html. Fix is slated for the next release of PyQt.
Same problem here. Using PyQt5-5.15.0 fix the issue but it's annoying nevertheless. Hope it can be fixed somehow.
