Dovecot works works well on ~arm64.

I don't use vpopmail, and actually vpopmail integration isn't supported by upstream:

Here are my USE flags:

Works fine for me, and helps me to avoid installing an SQL server I don't need.

uhm, you really should consider migrating away from vpopmail.  it doesnt have to be an sql server.  there are various options

I suggest masking vpopmail USE flag on new arches

I don't know any option to use a multi-domain qmail setup without local users and SQL server without vpopmail.

dovecot works fine on arm64 here too. I have been using it for 2 years.
