The .deb file contains libffmpeg.so which is licensed under the LGPL. So its source code should be available, but it is neither included with the package, nor can I find any pointer to it in the package or on upstream's download page.
(BTW, LICENSE of the ebuild should include the bundled licenses, at least the ones listed in /usr/share/teams/LICENSE*.)
Isn't LGPL that source code does *not* need to be included unless you link statically or change something in the sources?
If you just wish to make sure that you a specific version is used (MS Teams crashes with newer ffmpeg or MESA EGL), and you provide that specific version without having modified the source code, it wouldn't make any sense to distrubute the sources anyway.
At least that is how I interpret the Wikipedia article about the LGPL, the explanations of the Qt folks about their LGPL components, and the explanations here:

As I am maintaining my own variation in my overlay, I'd like to know what we could do about that. I mean, other than filing a bug with Microsoft Teams or telling the ffmpeg folks to talk to them.
Being the biggest provider of open source software, you'd think Microsoft knew better.
Well, when the next version of ms teams arrives, I will again test it with unbundled ffmpeg and mesa libraries. So if that works (it doesn't currently), unbundling might become mandatory and everything is good, isn't it?

net-im/teams is mirror restricted. So, we don't distribute the FFmpeg library (as part of Teams), and its license isn't an issue for us.
The only question is if we want to endorse (to say it bluntly) Microsoft's piracy of FFmpeg.

1) it doesnt affect us (we dont distribute it, mirror restriction)
2) we are not the damaged party (that would be either ffmpeg upstream or chromium devs), so we can't do anything about it

That's right, but OTOH we've removed other packages in the past for the same reason, see for example bug 507412 and bug 608954. Are we applying double standards?
(Note that I'm _not_ suggesting to remove net-im/teams from the tree, but maybe this should at least be reported upstream?)
