I've been using nvidia-drivers without those since forever just fine. Lacking them doesn't prevent neither compilation nor usability for me, and I do not wish to start using them.

Oh and I am aware that it is needed when using nvidia-drm.modeset=1, however that's optional. I don't even let the nvidia-drm module be loaded (I only need nvidia.ko and nvidia-modeset.ko)
