When I try to emerge gdm I get the error that it lacks the perl module XML::Parser

Is dev-perl/XML-Parser installed? If yes, which version? dev-util/intltool lists it correctly as dependency.

Right, this was a duplicate.  I was only searching for "gdm", forgot to search for "XML::Parser".
