When using prozilla in portage, it searches for mirrors to download the files 
from.
I would surgest, that it looks for mirrors at:
http://www.filemirrors.com

The graphical version of prozilla (which  might not be in portage) actually
searches some sites that work. 

They really need to upgrade the prozilla in portage...

how is this a portage bug? Looks more like a prozilla issue.
