Description Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2020-03-11 06:23:43 UTC
Please port to py3 or lastrite.
Comment 1 Nikos Chantziaras 2020-03-11 12:23:19 UTC
Upstream has no immediate plans to port to python 3, so I guess lastrite.
Comment 2 Nikos Chantziaras 2020-03-11 18:07:44 UTC
Btw, is there something I need to be doing? Am I supposed to do the lastriting?

Ah, sorry, I've forgotten that you don't have commit access. Are you sure that it doesn't work with py3 though?
Comment 4 Nikos Chantziaras 2020-03-11 20:26:14 UTC
Yes, it does not work. Upstream report:

https://github.com/mnauw/git-remote-hg/issues/27#issuecomment-590113527
Comment 5 Chris Mayo 2020-06-20 09:41:36 UTC
Python 3 compatibility has been merged:
https://github.com/mnauw/git-remote-hg/issues/27#issuecomment-643241715

I've been using a snapshot at 28ed63b7 which seems to work fine - tests even pass (with 2 known problems skipped).
Comment 6 Nikos Chantziaras 2020-06-21 14:54:50 UTC
Thanks for the head-up. Submitted PR using that commit and removing the package from last-rites.
Comment 7 Nikos Chantziaras 2020-07-16 14:34:44 UTC
Well, the PR was not merged and as a result the package was removed from portage. Sorry, nothing I could do to prevent this from my end. You should manually install the script as documented here:

Closing.
