The yasm is the nasm-like assembler for amd64. This is the first version that can create shared libraries and will be needed by the upcoming xvid assembler optimizations that Andre Werthmann is doing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 46341 [details] Ebuild for yasm 0.4.0
I have written the yasm 0.4.0 ebuild. It is very simple, based on the 0.3.0 version and works for me. I used it to build the niona version of the xvid codec to have optimized assembly code, and I switched from 10 fps to 60 fps...
This is just a version bump(!). Delivered checks passes here... Attached ebuild is unneccessary. We'll need this for upcoming media-libs/xvid-1.1
@augustus: looks like you put that package into portage, there's no metadata.xml. Is this maintained by you or amd64 herd?
I'll take over maintainership of yasm.
New version in CVS now. Added metadata.xml with herd=amd64, maintainer=kugelfang.
