We need to purchase a few more drive sleds aka drive caddies, for the new sparc box catbus. It's an oracle t5-2 and the oracle part number is 541-2123. Here's one ebay listing for what we need: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-541-2123-2-5-inch-SATA-SAS-Hard-Disk-Drive-Tray-Caddy-for-Sun-Oracle-Servers/273626580697?hash=item3fb56a46d9:g:VtgAAOSwVEFb~O3d Thanks
iamben: How many units are required? The ebay quote is $10USD/ea plus free slow shipping in the USA
iamban: please clarify my question. The Trustees have approved up to $200USD for this purchase, inclusive of shipping/taxes etc.
I don't think we ever heard how many it came with. We should ask someone at OSU to check. The server has 2 disks in it already, and there are slots for 6 total, so the maximum number of sleds we could use is 4.
I would be very surprised if the other 4 slots had anything but dummy sleds in them, so I'm pretty sure we need 4. If we have OSU check for us, it's pretty easy to identify if they're usable sleds or not, the dummies actually say "FILLER" on the front (and look different in other ways too, like no LEDs or other markings).

Any updates here? -A
I do have a photo of Catbus now - and there are 4 "filler" sleds present. Can sparc team if we should still purchase this? The expense was already approved back in 2019.
