When you run UT2003, straight after the loading screen, it bugs out asking for an extension it cant find (a Xig one), and a fctl problem before it.. I ran it from root to verify its not a permission problem, and I am 100% sure I have nvidias GLX running, and nvidias official drivers working.. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run ut2003 (run from root if you want to ensure its not a permission prob) 2. wait for the start cursing 3. Actual Results: bash-2.05b# ./ut2003 fcntl: Invalid argument fcntl: Invalid argument ut2003-bin: arch/linux/lin_dsp.c:529: native_blitbuffer: Assertion `0' failed. Ok.. I discovered the lack of a Xig extension is normal and is just because I'm not using the Xig server.. the crash was caused by the official sound nvsound nforce drivers it seems.. but the end result is: ------------------------------- auzy@family ~ $ ut2003 fcntl: Operation not permitted fcntl: Operation not permitted Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0". GL_EXT_bgra not supported - bailing out. History: Exiting due to error auzy@family ~ $ ----------------------------------------- I'm guessing its just ut2003 doesn't support geforceFX's yet (seems like only geforce 2-4).. would be nice during the ebuild if this was stated. Thanks all.. I guess this bug can be closed now too (unless theres a way to get it working with geforce FX.. even though, they should support this extension so it might have been an oversight by Nvidia)
seems I forgot to opengl-update last install.. says opengl is messed up now.. but at least I know the reason
