Description chris-gentoo 2004-10-25 17:17:05 UTC
In upgrading from 3.2 to 3.3 I found that most of my applications moved all their settings from ~/.kde3.2 to ~/.kde3.3
After a few weeks of working with 3.3, I decided to try and clean up the 3.2 directory and moved it to see if anything would break.
After moving it, all my contacts were gone, move it back, contacts came back.
Surely the address book should have been moved to the 3.3 profile?

 Steps I used to produce

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
 1. Install KDE 3.2.2
 2. Open Address book from within KMail
 3. Create some contacts
 4. Upgrade to KDE 3.3.0
 5. Log into KDE and run all apps (incl KMail and address book)
 6. Remove ~/.kde3.2
 5. Open Address book from within KMail
Actual Results:
Contacts are gone

Expected Results:
Contacts should have been preserved in ~/.kde3.3

I think that this is one of the possible problems reported in bug #40698, feel free to change it if I'm wrong.
