According to the project page [1], the last lead selection took place on 2017-07-09Z (which was over 18 months ago). According to GLEP 39 [2]:

> This [lead] selection must occur at least once every 12 months

Finally got this closed... as of 2022-07-18.

It is a good idea to create a project election 'bot' that scans the election date on the project pages and creates a bug assigned to the official bug-assignment email... is that what you did here?

And it might also be good to include a link to an election email template. I can write up this bit if it does not exist. Something that gives a two week response time from project members...

Essentially the bot could pull a current list of project members from the wiki, and add their names into the email template with links to their wiki userspace pages and the user's email address. The generate an email template that can be pasted into a bugs.g.o comment as a recommendation.
