Description Tomáš Mózes 2019-01-11 18:04:21 UTC
After a recent system update, there a lot of these messages in mail.log:

Jan 11 17:56:03 server amavis[19944]: (19944-12) _WARN: Use of uninitialized value in subroutine entry at /usr/lib64/perl5/5.26.2/x86_64-linux/Encode/MIME/Header.pm line 198, <GEN15> line 15127.

I'm trying if 2.11.1 fixes it (something is in it's changelog):
amavisd-new-2.11.1 release notes

...

- safe_decode() and safe_decode_utf8(): avoid warning messages
    "Use of uninitialized value in subroutine entry"
  in Encode::MIME::Header when the $check argument is undefined;

Yes, seems like 2.11.1 fixes this. We should probably stabilize it.

amavisd-new-2.11.1-r3 is already going to be stabilized ASAP for bug 669206, so I don't want to worry about this too much. Let's figure out what happened to the init script so that everyone's happy with the newer version.
Comment 3 Tomáš Mózes 2019-01-12 14:40:39 UTC
Ok, agreed. Just wanted to have this for the record. I'll check the init next week, hopefully it can be easily fixed. Thanks for the feedback.
