Description Michael Mair-Keimberger (iamnr3) 2018-10-07 20:34:04 UTC
Hi,

While looking for some auth problems with sssd-1.16.3 I found some rather strange changes with sys-libs/pam-1.3.1.
With recent sssd I wasn't able to login via sssd anymore and quickly found out why:
Oct 7 22:12:49 vx3 su[5238]: PAM unable to dlopen(/usr/lib64/security/pam_sss.so): /usr/lib64/security/pam_sss.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Oct 7 22:12:49 vx3 su[5238]: PAM adding faulty module: /usr/lib64/security/pam_sss.so

Turns out that the pam_sss.so isn't at that location, but it's at /lib64/security. However pam-1.3.1 changed the location of the pam modules to /usr/lib64/security.

And the real strange thing is, if I enable abi_x86_32 (multilib) the files would be installed correctly at /lib64/security, so it seems it only breaks with multilib _disabled_.

Downgrading or enabling multilib helps.
