Description Chris 2018-09-19 11:34:55 UTC
Hi.

I have a bumblebee situation on my laptop. The Nvidia drivers for my card are now in the "Legacy" classification: 340.107.

When I install primus, however, it tries to force me to the most current driver -- which won't work for my system.

So, I force the install of primus with the --nodeps option to emerge. It installs, and runs without complaint.

I'm thinking that perhaps a check should be included in the ebuild to allow for the legacy driver to work. Not having this in the primus ebuild could send some poor Gentoo newbie down the wrong track, and add hours of unnecessary frustration.

Your call, of course.

Thanks.
