Hi, Since ifcomp-2004 (http://www.ifcomp.org) already entered judging phase and Gentoo still misses TADS interpretor --- it's time to add one. QTads is a GUI interpreter for Tads games, running under Unix-based systems (it has been tested in Linux, Mac OS X and FreeBSD, but it should compile and run in many more, like Solaris and Irix). Tads is a programming language for implementing Interactive Fiction (text-adventures). QTads supports both Tads2 and Tads3 games. Gentoo has no established policy where IF-interpretors should go: Z-machines are under games-engines (xzip, frotz, etc), but Hugo is under games-emulation. Nickolay
Created attachment 40967 [details] qtads-1.5.ebuild (new package) 1) ebuild don't imply "games" group restrictions, since none of Z-machine interpretors do so. 2) German translation always installed. I don't know portage deep enough to handle this issue. 3) compiler option "-fno-strict-aliasing" is always appended to CFLAGS. According to authors page, it is only necessary for >=gcc-3.3
It would appear that games-emulation/hugo is a TG16 emulator, and thus actually should be under games-emulation :-)
Yes. Already got that. Hugo IF system is also missing from Gentoo distribution. :( So, QTads should go to games-engines
Created attachment 49550 [details] qtads-1.6c.ebuild ebuild for new Qtads version 1.6c. Still waiting for portage inclusion.
games-engines/qtads added to portage. Thanks for the bug report and ebuild.
