Comment 8 Mathy Vanvoorden 2018-07-29 18:19:23 UTC
I'm unsure on how to fix this. stb seems to be something that doesn't want to be packaged in a versioned library but rather have developers put the single file they need in their own source repository, which clearly curaengine doesn't want to do as it tries to find it on the system, also no other distro's seem to be packaging it seperately so how it could end up as a system library I don't know, upstream has already shown that they have strange customs when it comes to dependencies.

I'm also discussing this on IRC on how to handle it.

If you are bitten by this a quick fix is

FEATURES=-network-sandbox emerge curaengine -1av

and then continue your updates

    dev-libs/stb: new package

    This is a header-only package that curaengine uses. Curaengine tries to pull it
    from git if not found on the system, which causes the build to break. This
    package installs the header files in a place where cmake will find it during
    the build.
