the source package/tarball doesn't exist any more on *any* download server.

same goes for following versions currently in the tree: 6.9.9.40 (marked stable on amd64) 6.9.9.47 6.9.10.3 6.9.10.5 (marked stable on amd64) 7.0.7.28 (marked stable on amd64) 7.0.7.35 7.0.8.3 the only downloadable versions (which are in the portage tree right now) are: 6.9.9.31 7.0.7.19
any updates on this? non-installable software in the tree is imo a serious issue - even more so, if the latest stable one is affected as well
It is irrelevant. Imagemagick ebuilds have no mirror restriction, while you are using an invalid or broken mirror.
(In reply to Mikle Kolyada from comment #4) > It is irrelevant. Imagemagick ebuilds have no mirror restriction, while you > are using an invalid or broken mirror. so how can I install the latest version if the tarball fetch fails, then?
Change the mirror?
It looks like upstream has pulled some files from their own mirrors. However, files are available on Gentoo mirrors, like https://mirror.netcologne.de/gentoo/distfiles/ImageMagick-7.0.8-5.tar.xz
alright, thanks
But not on all of them. I have, for example ftp://ftp.wh2.tu-dresden.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo in my list and while this is still officially listed as a Gentoo Mirror it does not contain the file (and did not for at least a week). Also it would be nice if there was a way that portage could inform me of old/invalid mirrors. I was not aware that 4 of my 5 mirrors are no longer official. I do not usually manually reconcile the mirror list with the official list. Is there a way to do that automatically or at least get informed once a mirror is no longer valid?
Sorry. My mistake most of the mirrors were acutally ImageMagick mirrors, not Gentoo mirrors. So the previous comment only applies to the tu-dresden mirror.
(In reply to Marcus from comment #9) > Also it would be nice if there was a way that portage could inform me of > old/invalid mirrors. +1 (for broken mirrors) but I guess this would probably be a topic for a new issue/feature request towards the portage team... I set up the mirror at least 6+ years ago; and meanwhile totally forgot almost everything about them - lol
