Python version 3.7.0 [0] got released on 2018-06-27, two days ago in my TZ. I hope this doesn't fall under Zero-day bump requests [1]. [0] https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-370/ [1] https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Zero-day_bump_requests
Also 3.6.6. The hash-unaligned diff is not needed there anymore has it has been applied upstream.
I fear that needs more effort than a simple bump, since we need to add a lot of PYTHON_COMPAT. We have a procedure for that, right?
(In reply to Maxim Koltsov from comment #2) I have a vague procedure in my head; I will try and do a brain dump on the wiki. However, the first step is bumping dev-lang/python in ~arch.
PYTHON_COMPAT is not immediately necessary. Getting a working interpreter for testing is a good first step.
