Description Sergey S. Starikoff 2018-02-28 07:41:27 UTC
Some time ago I've reviewed my syste,'s sensor configuration.
And find one wrong item.

Utility sensors-detect (sys-apps/lm_sensors-3.4.0_p20170901 (/usr/sbin/sensors-detect)).

# /usr/sbin/sensors-detect
…
Do you want to generate '/etc/modules-load.d/lm_sensors.conf'? (YES/no): no

Please create '/etc/modules-load.d/lm_sensors.conf' with the following content
to allow modules-load service to autoload modules on boot:
…

But Gentoo has no directory /etc/modules-load.d/ and uses /etc/modprobe.d/ instead.

Yes and no. It maybe possible that this directory doesn't exist yet on your system depending on the used init system. However, this directory should be owned by your init system which is providing modules-load service. So this is no bug in lm_sensros.

Given that we received such bug reports before (bug 595006) I am going to file a bug against OpenRC to get this "fixed".

As said, the problem is the init system (OpenRC) which should provide and and own modules-load.d directories. I filed a bug against OpenRC, see bug 649726. Therefore I am closing this bug as invalid like the previous bug 595006.
