Created attachment 520652 [details] media-tv/mythtv-0.28.2.ebuild Portage has 0.28.1, but 0.28.2 is out now with bug fixes. I'll post ebuilds for mythtv, mythplugins, and mythweb that work for me. It was just a touch more than renaming the existing ebuilds, but all pretty straightforward. Bug 645850 is related, as 29.1 is the current version, but we should also have the latest version of 0.28 available for anyone who wants to stay on the older stable code.

I'm using all three of these ebuilds on my MythTV system, and they all work fine. As to the mythtv ebuild, the glibc patch no longer applies, so that was removed (it's in the release now). I added dev-python/requests-cache because jobs were failing due to its absence.
This is probably not going to happen until someone is volunteering to maintain the package. Are you interested?
Yes. I've been using MythTV and Gentoo for over a decade, so I should pay my dues.
Created attachment 520820 [details] media-tv/mythtv-0.28.2.ebuild Update ebuild to add dependency for dev-python/future (required by metadata lookup python scripts). Most systems will have this pulled in by something else already, so it was easy to miss this. When MythTV is the only application not using Python 3, things like this show up.

Is this going into the portage tree, or should I download and use in a local overlay? I'm interested in moving ahead and supporting this effort, but would prefer to start with a minor version bump. (Doesn't need the database upgrade)
Due to #656250 the DEPEND needs changing to use x11-base/xorg-proto
