The driver for the 3Ware 9xxx series of RAID cards has been merged with Linux 2.6.8. Unfortunately, there isn't yet a livecd that uses this kernel because of stability issues. This is a serious boot strapping issue for those of us with systems that must use a 9xxx controller as a boot device. I'd like to request that this driver get included with the Gentoo development sources. I don't believe that the driver included with 2.6.8 can be easily back ported to 2.6.7 but the orignal patch from 3ware against 2.6.6 seems to apply OK to gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.7-r11. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

The 3w-9xxx driver is not in gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.7-r11 nor is it on the 2004.2 livecd. Attempts to compile this driver against 2.6.7-r11 and then using it with the 2004.2 livecd have failed althought his technique worked with 2004.1
Marking invalid, since I don't want to DUPE it again... Check linked bug for more info...
