Hi, since a some long days I repeately noticed that I can't start neither KDE nor any other app (almost Qt). I simply used strace to get more info about and recognized that all apps hangup in the fcntl syscall. I've my /home directory on my Server and access it via NFS, so only users had the problem. But although root can get it, (I tested it, by changing temporarily my $HOME into a NFS driven dir). So, I can't really say, whether this is a bug of GCC 3.2 generated code, a bug in vanilla kernel 2.4.19, or even the nfs-utils package. I'm using now on both machines Gentoo 1.4beta. But the bug has been a few days before too. I just didn't care about, since these days just irssi hang by going into /away state (also fcntl call). ((I'd be happy if I get some response, too. Since OpenAFS seems not a good replacement for NFS. I'm new to AFS and I can't find a way for simply mapping my server /home dir to the clients.)) Many thanks, Christian Parpart. Many thanks
