The print dialog for QT-based applications (like okular) has a Properties button next the printer. The properties dialog used to have an Advanced tab to set print mode and the like.

This tab disappeared due to a commit in Qt (dev-qt/qtprintsupport) in Aug 2012, cf. [2], without providing an alternative approach. This is now considered a bug [1] with priority P2-Important in Qt.

Work on bringing back this functionality is ongoing [2], however the latest patchset (#22) does not apply to Gentoo's current stable version dev-qt/qtprintsupport-5.7.1 nor version 5.9.3.
