I cannot compile some system packages:
texinfo
openssl
libperl
slang
shadow

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --update system

Actual Results:  
I get the following errors:

configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host.
    If a cross compiler is detected then cross compile mode will be used.
cmds.c: In function `cm_sc':
cmds.c:724: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.

The bug is not reproduceable, so it is likely a hardware or OS problem

try running cpuburn (app-benchmarks/cpuburn) and make sure your system is stable

I installed the package and ran burnK6 for more than an hour and get no output.

texinfo finally did compile but now gcc fails.

i'm inclined to blame hardware
