If /usr is not part of the root partition, /sbin/splash from splashutils cannot find fbset which is in /usr/bin because when it is first started, only the root partition is mounted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. have /usr on a separate partition from / 2. install and configure splashutils and fbsplash 3. reboot the computer Actual Results: /sbin/splash complains that it cannot find fbset and does not create a background Expected Results: fbsplash should work correctly
