emerge info

Rebuilding the database doesn't help.

~amd64-keyworded 0.9.18-r1 works properly.

I had this problem also -- I can confirm that upgrading to 0.9.18-r1 fixes the problem. Please unmask!

Sorry, I forgot all about this bug after I adopted this package. This bug only affects a very old version no longer in the tree.
