Description Miroslav Šulc gentoo-dev 2004-08-25 03:34:55 UTC
This was working fine but now it doesn't. K3b only cannot identify CDRW device, DVD-RW device is identified correctly though CDRW and DVD-RW is one device. I suspect that cdrtools update could cause it but I didn't test it. My burning device is "DVD-RW GWA-4040N" in Acer TravelMate 292LMi notebook.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start k3b
2. Set CD data project for burning
3. Press Burn button
Actual Results:
Dialog appears that says that no suitable device was found.

Expected Results:
Should identify the CD-RW device.

Comment 1 Miles Lubin 2004-08-25 11:11:34 UTC
This is a new problem caused by the 2.6.8 kernel, which I also experienced. You now must be root to burn a cd. I dont know how secure running k3b as root is, so you might want to just use cdrecord.

Thanks, Miles, I will mark this bug as duplicate of the 60756 because it's the same bug.
