Description Eugene Cormier 2017-03-19 15:40:10 UTC
emerging sys-apps/memtest86-4.3.7 fails with:
 * Your boot partition was detected as being mounted at /boot.
 * Files will be installed there for memtest86 to function correctly.
--- /boot/
--- /boot/memtest86/
>>> /boot/memtest86/memtest
!!! failed to properly create symlink:
!!! /boot/memtest86/memtest.bin -> memtest
!!! [Errno 1] Operation not permitted: b'memtest' -> b'/boot/memtest86/memtest.bin'
!!! Failed to move file.
!!! /boot/memtest86/memtest.bin -> memtest

this is the exact same error fixed recently in memtest86+ in this bug:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382757

I got around this for now by installing the latest unstable memtest86+, but it does still need to be fixed for the other
