Mathy, are you interested in working on this? As mentioned on dev-ml, this bump would probably need a unification of gtest and gmock with consequences for the dep graph. However, there was some discussion, if we want to go forward with this package at all. This should not be shipped by a distribution: https://github.com/google/googletest/blob/master/googletest/docs/Primer.md Whoever wants to use it should ship it with their software. Fixing the packages that depend on it and then last-rite could be the way forward.
