Description Dmitry Grigoriev 2016-12-06 18:42:29 UTC
Hi. At some moment I've got this on my server:

!!! existing preserved libs:
>>> package: sys-libs/binutils-libs-2.25.1-r2
 *  - /usr/lib64/libbfd-2.25.1.so
 *      used by /usr/lib64/binutils/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/2.25.1/libopcodes-2.25.1.so (sys-devel/binutils-2.25.1-r1)
Use emerge @preserved-rebuild to rebuild packages using these libraries

But `emerge @preserved-rebuild` does not resolve. I found that binutils-lib is not installed at all, so I suppose binutils should have it as dependency.

This probably means you had some app requiring binutils-libs before (like mariadb), but you removed binutils-libs.

This happened to me and I had to manually remove that file.
