As discussed in https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=586302 upower-pm-utils shouldn't be needed now that we have consolekit1... but we will need to check each reverse dep to see how to replace it finally :/
Kodi's power management (media-tv/kodi) does only work with upower-pm-utils, not with upower, on non-systemd systems, cf. https://www.gentoo.org/support/news-items/2014-06-03-upower-loses-hibernate-suspend-to-systemd.html. Please reconsider your decision or explain how to retain kodi's power management features (hibernate after <n> minutes of inactivity) with current upower versions.
Please don't spam the tracker. If there is a problem with kodi, file a new bug against it and make it block this tracker so the maintainer can take appropriate steps.
